Anansi, Spiderman of Africa!
Written, Directed and Performed by Crabgrass Puppet Theatre September 25 - October 10, 2004

A sidesplitting selection of famous folktales from Africa starring Anansi the spider, whose appetite always overrules his intellect. Anansi loves to eat and hates to work, so he tries to trick other animals out of their food. But there's no free lunch for Anansi, because all of his schemes leave him hungrier than ever! These hilarious stories are brought to life by the Crabgrass Puppet Theatre with a dynamic blend of traditional African design, infectious music and fabulous puppetry. Anansi, Spiderman of Africa was recently awarded the Citation of Excellence from the American Center of the Union Internationale de la Marionette, the highest honor in American puppetry!

Ugly Duckling & Other Stories
Written and Directed by Robert Smythe | Performed by The Company
February 19 - March 13, 2005

Ugly Duckling and Other Stories is simple fun and pure magic! In our production a glove may become a swan; a dust mop turns into a goat, as we introduce you to the world of the imagination, creating puppets and characters from everyday "found" objects. This show is presented without any words, enabling the audiences of any age or background to interpret the performance according to their own experiences.

The Adventures of a Boy and His Dog on the High Seas
Written and Directed by Robert Smythe | Performed by The Company
May 14 - June 5, 2005

Back by popular demand! The Boy and Dog Series returns to travel the high seas in an exciting adventure filled with pirate ships, action, and messages in bottles. Letters from fans around the globe inspired this production. This production was originally funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.

Family Series subscriptions are now available for only $36 each. As a Family Series subscriber, you'll receive one ticket to each of our three family productions, and a variety of exclusive subscriber benefits including exchange privileges, class discounts, special invitations and discounts to restaurants, retails shops, theaters and galleries!
