Temple Students Take On Mum in a Student Production

For Immediate Release: January 28, 2004

Stop Kiss Setting their sights on a future in Philadelphia Theatre, seven Temple University students get an early opportunity. They will perform on the Mum Stage with their independently mounted production of Stop Kiss by Diana Son. The seven students which make up Trois Vies Ensemble will perform on Thursday and Friday February 26 and 27 at 8pm. The tickets are free but donations are accepted.

Stop Kiss is set in present day New York City. Callie, a savvy New Yorker, and Sara, a schoolteacher from the Midwest become friends. The friendship between the two girls evolves into an unspoken attraction. Their first kiss provokes a shocking act of violence and their lives are changed forever.

Trois Vies Ensemble was the brainchild of Yana Edelman-Barber and Stephanie DiPilla, two theatre majors at Temple University. Anxious to perform shows that matter and to provide fellow students with acting opportunities, Trois Vies Ensemble was formed and readily joined by fellow student/friend Carmy Carrick. The generous donation of the Mum performance space allows these students the rare opportunity to showcase their talents and experience a once in a life- time opportunity to shine on a professional stage.

Trois Vies Ensemble is a student run theatre company that seeks to promote strong theatre by showcasing artists of all kinds to perform socially relevant plays that challenge people to change the world around them.

Stop Kiss features actors Yana Edelman-Barber, Stephanie DiPilla, Josh Krevsky, Hugh Abbott, Thomas Coleman and Szoke Schaeffer and is directed by Carmy Carrick.
