- mum news - Mum Puppettheatre Announces 2003-2004 Season For Immediate Release: July 22, 2003 Philadelphia, PA - Mum Puppettheatre proudly announces its upcoming productions for the 2003-2004 season! Séance, runs October 7th through November 1st. Ticket prices range from $1 to $25. Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Saturday at 2pm. The Velveteen Rabbit returns one month earlier for its 10th Anniversary November 8th through November 30th. All tickets are $15. Performances are Saturday and Sunday at 12pm and 2pm. A Christmas Carol runs December 9th through January 3, 2004. Ticket prices range from $1 to $25. Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Saturday at 2pm. Father Goose Tales runs March 6th through March 28th. Tickets are $15. As his owner starts to grow up, a beloved toy has to make a new life for himself, on his own. A classic story of childhood and love, Mum Puppettheatre's signature family-show uses hand puppets, rod puppets, shadows, and masks. Robert Smythe's adaptation of the Margery Williams classic, The Velveteen Rabbit, is a truly magical and unique experience. This year The Velveteen Rabbit celebrates its 10th anniversary of making audiences all over the world gasp with delight to see a stuffed toy become real! A favorite with audiences of all ages, The Velveteen Rabbit runs matinee performances November 8h through November 30th. All tickets are $15. Performances are Saturday and Sunday at 12pm and 2pm. Charles Dickens' beloved tale, A Christmas Carol, grew out of the English tradition of telling ghost stories at Christmas. Mum's new adaptation features live music and a script by Philadelphia playwright. Bruce Graham (Coyote on a Fence and Anastasia), directed by William Roudebush (Equus and The Madwoman of Chaillor). This powerful story is almost a one-man show starring Tom McCarthy as the man whose last chance to redeem his soul runs December 9 through January 3rd. Opening Night is December 15, 2003. Mother Goose is away for the day and Father Goose has to take care of all her chores, including the storytelling! But every time he gets one of those all-too-familiar stories started, he just can't seem to get it right. Jim Napolitano (from Between the Lions on PBS) uses innovative shadow puppetry in a hilarious retelling of children's stories and songs that will keep the whole family laughing. The world's riches woman returns to the destitute village that threw her out as a young and pregnant girl. She promises everyone riches beyond their wildest dreams, with one little catch: her ex-lover must die. And she's willing to wait! Frank X and Sally Mercer star with a team of Internationally renowned puppeteers (Bonnie and Andrew Periale, Hua Hua Zhang) to create a world of greed, revenge and salvation.
