News Flash: Mum Puppettheatre announces two free events in May 2003 - fun for all ages!

Philadelphia, PA - Join Mum Puppettheatre for two free events for all ages:

Circus & Sideshow
When: Saturday, May 17 at noon
Where: Commonwealth Plaza Stage, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Broad & Spruce Streets

Beginning with a tale and ending with a bang, Mum Puppettheatre traces the history of performance from story-telling to movie special effects. Performed in a triumph of man over materials and the imagination over the mundane. Each performance of Circus & Sideshow is unique, and at the end, the curtain comes down so the audience may see what is really going on backstage.

Shadow Puppet Workshop with Jim Napolitano
When: Sunday, May 18, 2pm-4pm
Where: Mum Puppettheatre, 115 Arch Street

Hosted by the Greater Philadelphia Puppet Guild, this demonstration and hands-on workshop gives a new twist to the ancient art of shadow puppetry. "Jim is a master artist and educator whose knowledge and dedication to his craft is infectious. His teaching style is friendly, energetic, and accessible... And a lot of fun!" -The New Victory Theatre Education Department
